Ways to volunteer with us

Fundraising Volunteering

We have a huge range of exciting volunteering opportunities within our Fundraising team, which means that there’s something here for everyone!

You could play a vital role in your local area organising events to raise much needed funds and awareness. Work alongside our Community Fundraisers to liaise with local businesses in your community to host collection tins, attending cheque presentations, giving talks about the work of Alzheimer’s Society and attending events as a representative of Alzheimer’s Society.

You could support our Regional Fundraising team with administration support and volunteer recruitment. Whatever it is that you decide to do you will be helping us to raise vital funds and help us to reach more people living with Dementia.

Our Research Network

Research isn't just for researchers. Volunteer with our Research Network and use your personal experience of dementia to drive research forward.

All of our Research Network volunteers have a personal connection to dementia - as carers, former carers, or they're living with dementia. For twenty years, our Research Network volunteers' experience has helped to ensure our research is relevant, credible and can transform the lives of everyone living with Dementia.

Alongside helping us to decide what research we fund, as a Network volunteer you could also be involved in helping to decide our research priorities, sitting on a grant funding panel, monitoring ongoing projects and helping share the results. You could work alongside researchers to develop their research proposal or speak about research and acting as an ambassador for Alzheimer’s Society.

Event Volunteering

When you volunteer at an event as part of team Alzheimer's Society, you are helping us to get one step closer to a world without dementia by supporting all of our amazing fundraisers.

This support is so incredibly important, we have many different roles that you can get stuck in to, from race marshals, to finish line stewards, to cheer point volunteers. If you are looking for a one-off chance to get involved why not join us at one of our events?

From the joy of cheering on our marathon runners to the heart-warming experience of handing out medals to Memory Walkers, event volunteering is incredibly rewarding and a wonderful way to get involved with your local community.

As an Alzheimer’s Society events volunteer, it’s your job to make as much noise as you can when our incredible runners, walkers and cyclists pass our support stations. You really can make all the difference when it comes to helping our team to reach the finish line!
