Working within the Local Systems Influencing team, this role will support Alzheimer’s Society’s ambitions to drive major policy and system change at a local and regional level across England, Northern Ireland and Wales.
As a Local Systems Influencing Officer, you will be responsible for delivering our ambitious programme of influencing work. While this role will predominately focus on driving change within England, you will have the opportunity to support our work across all three nations.
A key part of this role includes identifying and maximising opportunities to influence policy, practice and attitudes at the local and regional levels. You will raise awareness and the profile of the work of Alzheimer’s Society by identifying and building strong relationships with key local stakeholders, as well as mapping and analysing target audiences, writing briefings, and organising and attending meetings and events.
You will work closely with other teams across the organisation to maximise our impact and influence to ensure dementia is a priority issue among key decision-makers and to affect positive change for people living with dementia.
About you
- Proactive, driven and highly organised individual. You will be comfortable working in a fast-paced and complex environment with the ability to deliver confidently and clearly against agreed work plans.
- You will have a good understanding of local government and the health and social care system, with an interest in influencing key stakeholders and policy decisions.
- Confident and collaborative communicator, you will have strong relationship-building skills and be comfortable leading on team projects, delivering presentations, and translating policy content into easily understandable messaging for stakeholders.
