Where does a colleague turn when a finance system won't do what they need? Here at Alzheimer's Society, the answer is you.
About the opportunity
As Finance Systems Administrator, you'll be the first point of contact for our finance systems. When a colleague has a query, a problem or a request, you'll be the one who helps. You'll sit in our Finance Systems and Data team, part of the Finance and Assurance directorate, and report to the Finance Systems Analyst.
Finance and Assurance has a clear vision. We want to be the Society's single point of truth. We are trusted partners and credible experts, and we work as one team. Our finance systems sit at the heart of that. When they run well, the whole Society runs better. Your job is to keep them running well for everyone who uses them.
This is a role built on great service. You'll resolve tickets, set up account codes, manage access and run scheduled tasks. You'll write clear guides so people can help themselves. And you'll spot the things that could work better, then help put them right. Every fix and every answer helps free up time and money for the people we are here to support.
About you
You're an organised, helpful person who likes solving problems and putting people at ease. You enjoy the detail, and you take pride in getting things right. You may be early in your finance career, perhaps working towards AAT, and you're keen to learn and grow.
You'll have:
- Knowledge of core finance work, ideally in a large organisation. Working towards (or a desire to) AAT or a similar award would be advantageous.
- Some experience of providing support on a finance or other business system (we use Unit4).
- A track record of great service, with a focus on a better experience for users.
- Sharp attention to detail and respect for clear, checkable steps.
- A track record of keeping accurate, well-ordered records and clear documentation.
- The proven ability to track and report on your own progress and impact.
- Experience of building strong working relationships across teams.
- A self-starting style. You manage your own time well, and you ask for help when you need it.
What you'll focus on
- Being the first port of call for Unit4 and linked system queries, with effective service every time.
- Resolving tickets. This includes account codes, approval substitutes and system access.
- Working with users to log issues clearly and passing complex ones to senior colleagues.
- Writing clear and easy to understand guides and training notes and pointing people to the help they need.
- Running month-end, year-end and other planned system tasks.
- Helping fix system errors, such as posting and integration faults.
- Backing good use of the system and gently challenging off-system workarounds.
- Keeping our systems, data and workload well-ordered and well run.
- Building trust across Finance, Assurance and the wider Society.
Are you ready to bring your service, care and curiosity to the team working to end the devastation of dementia?
